
Medical liability reform is a widely recognized, publicly debated issue, both in Pennsylvania and nationally. Insurance premiums have sharply escalated and physicians, in some cases, can't afford to practice. The issue is of such proportions that the public's access to quality health care is threatened.
The following sections offer some background on insurance requirements in PA, legislative efforts, and our view of the issue and the approach that must be taken to realize meaningful and long-term change.
