Federal Initiatives

PMSLIC is a member of Health Coalition on Liability and Access (HCLA). HCLA is a broad-based coalition working to attain MICRA-like reforms at the federal level, including a $250,000 cap on non-economic damages.

MICRA-like legislation was introduced several times over the last few years inthe House of Representatives. The real hurdle remains in the Senate where MICRA-like bills have failed numerous times.
